I had been keen to organise an al fresco photo shoot in Castleknock as an opportunity to work with local suppliers and showcase their talents. The venue Castleknock Hotel & Country Club seemed an obvious choice both with being local and also offering many services to wedding couples. Despite unforseen rain, myself and photographer Darren ploughed on with the shoot regardless and sought inspiration in between the droplets....
The hotel itself is modern in style with unique teak style panelling and vibrant abstract art throughout. There are many cool aspects to this hotel, my favourites being the open plan foyer, The Avenue Bar, The Park restaurant and green surrounds - the latter being one aspect that can sometimes be overlooked. Wanting to highlight this feature, I used it as our lush backdrop for the shoot; choosing pops of bright flowers and create a strong contrast against the grass and teak panelling that inherits the Hotel's unique décor. Failing sunshine, this look would also work really well in the hotel's Park Restaurant which also caters for intimate weddings.
I'm delighted with the results and look forward to working with this local dream team again!
