Welcome to our new wedding planning blog series Keeping up With The Co-ordinators where we will be hitting the road to visit the co-ordinators of your favourite wedding venues. This week we are featuring Wright's Angler's Rest wedding co-ordinator Noeleen Doyle. We are familiar with Noeleen from our previous wedding styling at Wright's Angler's Rest but we have never had the time to chat so it was lovely to catch up with her over a coffee and find out what goes on behind the scenes at her wedding venue...

Funfact about Noeleen.
Noeleen is a bride to be herself and prepping for her own vintage style wedding next weekend!
Noeleen, when did the Angler's Rest start hosting weddings?
We started doing weddings about 6.5 years ago
How many wedding guests can you accommodate here?
Maximum 150 guests
How do your weddings couples find you?
Most of our couples enquire via our website, especially after reading our testimonials. We also host our own wedding fair a couple of times a year.
How would you describe the style of the Angler's Rest wedding couple?
We do attract the more vintage chic brides and couples planning a more quirky wedding.
You have a new ceremony room...are you finding more couples are getting married onsite now?
Yes, our couples typically want a more convenient, travel free day so they avail of the onsite ceremony.
Have you had many same sex couples get married here?
Oh yes, we have welcomed many same sex couples here, especially since the marriage equality referendum.
Do couples normally bring their own celebrant?
This is usually 50/50. We would normally recommend "A Beautiful Ceremony" celebrants if the couples have not brought their own.
What do guests do between ceremony and dinner?
We provide a lovely drinks & canapés reception just outside the ceremony room, it makes the whole process more convenient for couples & guests alike.
Moving back to the main reception space (upstairs). The Angler's Rest is a restaurant style venue, why do you think couples opt for that instead of e.g.; hotel?
A lot of our couples veer towards a more alternative and intimate wedding which we can provide. Plus the food is so good!
Living locally, I've sampled the food many times and it is really good...Is the restaurant menu the same as the wedding menu?
One of the main perks of hosting your wedding at our restaurant is the choice of dinner menu in our wedding package. We can offer 3 choices for starters, 3 for mains and 2 desserts whereas most hotels will only offer 2 for mains and often charge for more than one choice.
What are your favourite dishes on the menu?
We are primarily a seafood restaurant so that would be our speciality but the steak and pork belly are two of my personal favourites.
What is your favourite spot in the venue for photos?
The Collins room - this is where we host the wedding ceremonies. It overlooks the River Liffey. It's worth noting that the picturesque Phoenix Park is across the road so we suggest taking your photographer there, en route for some outdoor shots!
As a co-ordinator, what are the must-haves for a successful wedding day?
A fantastic team. I am so lucky to have a great team around me, pulling all of the various elements together on the day. From Marcin the chef, both the kitchen/waiting staff And myself - we all play A role in making the day a success.
What do you love most about your job?
Meeting people. I work with such a diversity of personalities - no two couples are the same. Plus, it's exciting to see the final result of all the planning and preparation come together on the day.
What is your most memorable wedding moment?
I have so many proud wedding memories and more recently, a well known Irish TV personality hosted her wedding reception here.
When you are not at work or planning your own wedding, what do you like to do for down time?
Going to gigs with my fiancé, we went to see Guns & Roses at Slane Castle, it was unbelievable! We must have rocked out for 3hours straight!
What is your top wedding tip?
Stay true to your own unique style.
In your opinion what are the biggest trends for weddings right now?
Based on our wedding couples, vintage and shabby chic still remain popular for 2017.
Finally, what 3 words would you use to describe the Angler's Rest wedding?
Vintage. Intimate. Quirky
Thanks you so much for participating in our new blog series Noeleen Doyle! Once Upon A Wedding, wish yourself & your fiancé a wonderful wedding day next weekend!
